RUFFLE MANIA

This cake was done with the inspiration of an Old School 16 Candles birthday theme. It was done for a 40th birthday however, and consisted of a ton of ruffles and some simple pink flowers to top it off. I rimmed each of the ruffles with a specific tool to thin the edges and give them more of a realistic look. I also rimmed the flowers in an edible metallic silver paint to make them especially pop. This cake was fun to make however very time consuming!

TRAVIS & KELLY'S WEDDING

This particular cake was Specially created for my very own best friend of 19 years, Kelly Elizabeth and her new hubby, Travis Williams for their happily awaited Wedding Day on September 1st, 2012. I showed Kelly A TON of cake pictures and she literally just let me run free with all of my ideas for the design of this cake. We both fell IN LOVE with the idea of a circular tier covered in ombre ruffles that fade from a solid white to a deep cream color. To pull the deep cream colors into the rest of the cake design, I handcrafted a variety of different edible roses and flowers that looked absolutely gorgeous both in person and in pictures. The large black buttons going down the center of the second tier, were each pressed into a lace mold and dusted with an edible pearl shimmer dust. This gave them a gorgeous and elegant texture that my camera sadly could not capture! Kelly love love LOVED her Wedding cake and I could not even begin to express the amount of compliments that I received the entire reception about the design and especially the taste of each of the cake flavors! It was a HUGE success and I was sooo proud :) Congratulations again Travis and Kelly! I love you both so much.

10 YEARS OF LOVE

This "Blinged" out Cake and Cupcake duo was ordered for a very special 10 Year Wedding Anniversary Party hosted in Carlsbad on August 25th, 2012. We chose to keep the cake design simple and paired both the cake and cupcakes with some elegant and silver rimmed flowers that looked stunning! They wanted everything to sparkle so I added a gorgeous rhinestone ribbon around the bottom of each cake tier as well as added some large rhinestones to the tops of some of the cupcakes! [for once something NOT edible on my work!] Everything turned out beautiful and I was so proud of the ending result. Thank you so much again Poolak and congratulations again on your amazing 10 Years of Marriage <3

Cake and Cupcakes were a huge success!! Thank you so much!!

RED HAT SOCIETY LOVE

This was my first request for a Red Hat Society cake. It was ordered for an amazing woman's 80th birthday, and I knew that I HAD to give the cake some spunk! The ladies in these societies are always glammed up and decked out in deep purples, vibrant reds, pearls and of course fun hats! I chose to top the cake with a giant red had made entirely of rice crispy treats and marshmallow fondant. With the spunk of a large purple feather and white flowers, I was able to create the exact look that I was going for. I created a purple demask against a red cake to highlight the colors of this society. I then added a shimmer dusted pearl necklace to capture the classy essence of these women. I fell in love with this cake and I am sure the Birthday Girl LOVED it, would not doubt it!

HAWAIIAN BREEZE

This tropical inspired cake was absolutely WAY TOO MUCH fun to make! Everything is once again, entirely edible and completely handcrafted. I Hand cut the giant white Hawaiian flower myself for the bulk of the cake design and paired it with an adorable pink and yellow flower that I dusted with edible shimmer dusts and powders. The Beach chair was one of my favorite parts and took almost 3 days to put to together. I had to wait while each of the pieces had dried. One of the main requests for this cake was to create an edible Laura, the birthday girl on top of the cake! I loved how adorable she turned out. I could not be more proud of her little sandals, her orange dress and my hand painted lettering on her dress and on the back of the cake. It was an overall success and I am SURE Laura loved it :)

Everyone loved it!!! Thanks so much Melissa! She was blown away :)
Couldn't have asked for a more perfect cake.

TIFFANY BLUE FLARE

These Adorable cupcakes were created for My Best Friend & Amazing Sister, Kelly Elizabeth's Tiffany & Co. blue inspired Bridal Shower this past weekend! Each of these cupcakes were of course individually Hand crafted and personally designed myself, and I could not have been more proud of their ending result! I chose to elaborate on much more modern, unique side to Bridal Shower Bliss. I had WAY too much fun working with this particular blue color and fell in love with my edible hand painted silver accents rimmed along the flowers and through out several of my other cupcake designs. As her Maid of Honor and Wedding Cake Vendor, I only hope to do everything that I possibly can to make this experience THAT much more special for her...and I think this was a great start :)

MADE WITH LOVE

I had so much fun creating this cake! A friend of mine, Jill Padilla chose to order this cake In honor of her Nana's Birthday as well as her Love for Sewing. I learned that her Nana was a pretty creative person herself, so I felt that I had to do everything I could to honor a fellow crafty person :) I chose to hand create a traditional tomato push pin out of marshmallow fondant and fell in love with the different sized edible pins that I stuck all it!  I used a ton of stitch work on the cake to make it look as if it were sewn together and topped it off with a ton of funky edible buttons that MADE the cake! There isn't a sewing kit in the world that doesn't have a jar of random buttons, so I thought, perfect! Aside from the hand rolled spool of thread, the adorable metallic seam ripper and the edible hand painted measuring tape, what makes this cake so special is the blanket on top. Jill sent me a picture of one of her Nana's most prized blankets that she created by hand. So I then chose to recreate the, BY HAND, to personalize the cake that much more. I am sure that her Nana loved it and I was more than proud of this cake :)

DOUG & EMILY'S WEDDING

I call this display, FALLing in Love with Summer <3 The Bride wanted to capture the essence of Fall during her summer wedding. I did so by creating handcrafted branches out of chocolate fondant and engraved wood-like lines into the branches. I then dusted the branches in a light glitter to add some fun glitz and glam in honor of a Wedding. I complimented the branches with burnt orange maple leaves on the cupcakes and added a ton of edible pearls to enhance the elegant side of fall. The Bride absolutely loved the ending result and I was more than happy to create such a unique design for her!

Melissa!! Thank you so much for making our gorgeous wedding cake/cupcakes. Everyone was super happy with them they looked perfect. You're so talented and I was super bummed I didn't get to come out and give you the huge hug you deserve. You made that part of our wedding day perfect thank you again!!

BAPTISM BLISS

My FAVORITE part of this cake is my handcrafted Baby Teddy Bear on top of the cake! He absolutely made the cake and was the perfect addition to this baby boy's baptism. I created him from rolled fondant, enriched him with tiny stitch work & created an angel like essence about him to match their requested quote "God Blessed us with an Angel" going around the cake plate. The simplicity of this cake design alone was so sweet and Jenna [Baby Travis Michael's Aunt] loved it!

The cake was soo good everyone loved it!
Awesome cake by Melissa from Cake Obsessions!

BLOOM BRIGHT, BABY GIRL

These absolutely adorable flowered cupcakes are completely edible and were so much fun to make! They were created for a Pink Baby Shower Theme where the design was completely left up to me! Nothing says sweet little girl like soft pink flowers to me, so I chose to pair a bright pink and softer light pink to create a striped ruffled flower for a little bit of spunk. I then rimmed the flowers in edible glitter and thought that they would look perfect with a larger floppy pink flower with baby buttons and edible glitter as well! The duo of these two flowers were to die for in person and Ashley loved them! Congratulations again!

LAVENDER MEETS HER MATCH

This exhilarating and spunky cake was created for a returning cake customer of mine and high school acquaintance, Amanda Kessler for her Sister Dana's 18th Birthday! Dana's first request for this cake was to incorporate a combination of lavender and a Tiffany & Co. inspired turquoise for her color choices. I was MORE than ecstatic to experiment with these two colors! Her second and final request was "To make it look cool!" Haha and that is Exactly what I did! I added a ton of pizazz by creating 3 unique handcrafted flowers and rimming each of them in my 24 karat edible gold shimmer paint as well as metallic gold coated pearls. I also added dramatic stripes to give the cake an exciting personality and then softened it with a simple lavender design on the opposite exterior of the cake. Dana absolutely LOVED it, especially with the additional dark purple, crazy fun feather sticking up that I just HAD to add! Thank you so much again Amanda and Dana :)

MEN LOVE THEIR GUNS

This abstract Gun inspired cake was created for my very own Husband, and a Big Suprise for his Birthday on July 6th, 2012! Like most men, his pride and joy lies within his growing gun collection! In honor of his latest addition, the intimidating AR-15, I chose to handcraft a Mini replica of it out of chocolate fondant and about 4 hours of detail work! I then paired the gun with some adorable little shooting ear muffs and a Red Shooting target [that he LOVED!] by dipping circle cookie cutters into red gel food coloring! It looked absolutely Adorable! I was practically jittery ALL DAY until I had the opportunity to surprise him with the cake! I love you so much baby and I am sooo happy that you loved your cake! Your favorite colors + favorite hobby= Success!

CELEBRATE & HIT THE BEACH!

This summer time inspired cake, expresses a simple design, However it came along with a complex request! While this cake was ordered for both Guys and Girls, it was also for multiple graduations and birthdays! This is when design, colors and all other aspects of edible art is completely challenged! So keeping it simple was my best bet! I chose to create a ton of gender neutral summer items and had WAY TOO MUCH fun creating the adorable little sandals, the striped beach towel, the beach ball, AND a "This way to the Beach" wooden sign and a striped bikini on the back of the cake! The Graduation hat allowed me to tie in the Graduation aspect of the cake while still staying true to a Summer time feel. The Puma family absolutely LOVED the cake upon their pick up and once again, that is what makes what I do, so rewarding!

Thank u soooo much again! Both cakes u did were amazing:) u r the best!
